Meat Packer 

Overview:

We are seeking a reliable and dedicated Meat Food Packer to join our production team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for packaging meat products in a safe, efficient, and sanitary manner. Attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and a strong work ethic are essential in this role.

 

​Key Responsibilities:

  • Pack and label various meat products (e.g., beef, pork, chicken) in compliance with food safety standards.

  • Ensure proper weight, size, and quality of packaged items.

  • Follow safety protocols and hygiene standards to prevent contamination and ensure product quality.

  • Operate packaging machinery (e.g., vacuum sealers, wrapping machines) and ensure proper functioning.

  • Inspect products for defects, foreign objects, or damage before packing.

  • Maintain cleanliness of the work area, including sanitizing equipment and surfaces.

  • Monitor packaging materials and request supplies as needed.

  • Assist with loading and unloading products onto pallets and storage areas.

  • Comply with all company policies and regulatory standards related to food handling and safety.

  • Report any issues or discrepancies in product quality or packaging to the supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • 4 GSCE Grade 4 or above Including maths and english preferred.

  • Previous experience in food production or packing is a plus, but not required.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet production deadlines.

  • Ability to lift up to 25lb and stand for long periods.

  • Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations is a plus but not essential.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work in a cold environment (temperatures typically range from 35°F to 40°F).

  • Ability to lift, bend, and stand for extended periods.

  • Good manual dexterity for handling meat products and packaging materials.

Working Conditions:

  • The work environment may be noisy and cold, as it involves working in a production facility.

  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE), such as gloves and hairnets, is required.

Delivery Driver 

Job Title: Butcher’s Delivery Driver

We are looking for a dependable and customer-focused Delivery Driver to transport fresh meat products from our butcher shop to homes, restaurants, retailers, and other clients. The ideal candidate will ensure timely, accurate, and safe delivery while representing our business professionally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Load and unload meat products from the butcher shop to the delivery vehicle.

  • Deliver orders accurately and on time to customers, ensuring all items are handled safely and hygienically.

  • Verify delivery information, including addresses and order details.

  • Maintain a clean and organised delivery vehicle.

  • Follow all food safety and hygiene standards during transport.

  • Collect delivery confirmations, or signatures as needed.

  • Communicate with the butcher shop team regarding order status, delays, or customer concerns.

  • Inspect delivery vehicle regularly and report any mechanical issues or maintenance needs.

  • Assist in basic shop duties (e.g., packing, organising orders) during downtime or as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

  • Previous experience in delivery, preferably in food or meat distribution, is an advantage but not essential.

  • Strong time-management and organisational skills.

  • Good knowledge of local roads and routes, you will be required to use Google Maps/what three words. on your own mobile phone or own Sat Navigation device. 

  • Ability to lift and carry heavy items (up to 30lb).

  • Friendly and professional demeanor with strong customer service skills.

  • Basic math and reading skills for handling delivery notes and receipts.

  • Flexibility to work early mornings, weekends, or holidays as needed.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift, carry, and move heavy boxes or meat products.

  • Comfortable working in varied temperatures, including refrigerated environments.

  • Ability to stand, bend, and drive for extended periods.

  • Handling perishable goods requires attention to cleanliness, punctuality, and care.

  • Interaction with customers and representing the butcher shop in a courteous and professional manner.
